You’ll have to swing past the expo to get a play-by-play on each of the above right now. I’ll do a more in-depth post on the products at a later stage, but to put the recipes into action before race day, here you go!

The night before…..

Carbo-loading still seems to be the order on most racer’s agenda. I’m not going to argue with the guy who has done 38 ultra marathons, each one starting with his carbo-load favourite…. spaghetti and marmite! I know, I was also like,  “ewwww,” and then I was like, “Mmmmmm carbs and marmite, yum!”

SmartBite now includes a full range of health products and here is a quick and simple Cous Cous recipe you can throw together using the SmartBite range and your SuperBlender!

Basil Pesto Cous Cous

(Serves 4)

1 Handful basil leaves

Juice of one lemon

1/2 clove garlic

10g SmartBite Himalayan Salt

4 spoons SmartBite Coconut Oil

250g SmartBite Cous Cous

50g SmartBite Cashew Nuts

1 Packet SmartBite Seed Crackers (Rosemary, Plain or Cayenne)

1 cup of chopped vegetables of your choice (we used Peppadews)

Boil a kettle of water and have ready. Pour your cous cous into a bowl and add boiling water until covered with 5mm of water. Cover and set aside to cook. Don’t add too much water else you will get mush, and make sure you have 5mm of water above your cous cous to prevent drying out.

Place the basil leaves, lemon juice, salt, coconut oil, cashews and garlic into the small jug of your Super Blender. Use the duel smoothie blade and blitz until all combined. You can blend until smooth or leave a little chunky for texture.

Uncover your cous cous (after 5 minutes minimum) and pour in your basil pesto mix. Stir until all combined.

Pour the crackers into a bowl and crush with your hands or the back of a spoon. Keep them as chunky as you would like.

Add your chopped vegetables to the seed mix and then add the pesto. Give everything a good stir and enjoy! For extra umfph add a sprinkling of feta cheese!

Add all other ingredients to your large Super Blender cup and Blend until smooth, stopping every few seconds to give the mix a shake and incorporate all ingredients. Add the chia seeds and the water and blend until smooth. Add more water if you prefer a thinner smoothie.

Pour into a glass and enjoy, or use the handy storage lid and take it with you to work/gym/school.
